Most of them have a rich ancient history and classic design. The average age of the top 20 universities in Europe is 345 years. The oldest university in the USA is Harvard.

Over the centuries, universities have managed to maintain their important role in society, to prepare future presidents and Nobel laureates. They conduct advanced research and make important scientific discoveries.
